Five generations have farmed Highfield Farm, starting in 1923.
A lot has changed over the last hundred years, but the family's commitment to sustainable farming has remained the same.
The land we farm
What We Grow
At Highfield Farm we grow cereal crops, wheat and barley, in rotation alongside oilseed rape, field beans, and stewardship areas that give wildlife room to thrive.
Meet the crew
Our Team
A farm doesn't run itself. Alongside Mat and Lisa, Ray and Dan, who between them bring sixty years' experience to the farm, help with the arable operation, whilst Lou supports the diversification projects and helps look after the animals.
How we farm
Land, Family, and What Comes Next
Arable farming is at the heart of what we do. Stewardship and diversifying with purpose all work alongside it, keeping the farm going for the next generation.
Stewardship
We're passionate about leaving this landscape healthier than we found it. Hedgerows, woodland and wildlife habitat sit alongside our fields, and we take an active part in Countryside Stewardship schemes to help biodiversity thrive.
Diversifying with purpose
Every new venture at Highfield has to fit into our ethos of supporting sustainability, the environment and our local community before it earns its place on the farm. It's imperative that it sits alongside the arable, rather than replacing what's already here.
